Let's go and get disappointed. The world of Virgin Soul is a BS kingdom ran by literally anime Hitler who does terrible things in order to ensure the survival of the human race. Said horrible things don't actually factor into the plan at all though. Join our lovable heroine Nina as she goes from a fun loving and quite dangerous adventurer to a whiny, love-struck imbecile who doesn't care that you are enacting genocide as long as you're a hot king in a story as poorly written as the Twilight sequels. Marvel at how much the writer of this season hates the previous characters and find new ways to make them as miserable as possible while making the actual bad guy of the show suffer minor injuries and yet still be praised a hero even though his plan was shit and it ultimately amounted to absolutely nothing, because hey... girls need their bad boys. Man, I sure hope you don't like Jeanne too much. Or Kaisar....
tl;dr: This show sucked. Started off great and devolved into a mess with a retarded plot that was pointless. And I really do think we were supposed to sympathize with the douche of a king. Worst sequel ever.
I agree with DmonHiro. VS ended up being a total dissapointment of a sequel. Hell, even the absolute garbage Dies Irae anime adaptation didn't make me as angry as VS did. As a Genesis fan, VS was absolute trash. It started fine, yes. But the quality took a fucking nosedive and we ended up with a complete shitshow of a sequel.
I agree especially one retard side character alone ruined this show! dammit!!! :( but your rating is quite harsh though especially first half were decent imo. Anyway 5.1 audio yay!!!
BTW I really think this that -> those who havent watched season 1 or didn't like season 1 might like season 2.
For real Dmon. This is the Twilight of anime. Big ass disappointment of the season and a waste of time, I hardly will ever say that about any anime but this one... damn. Even when "that guy" returned thought it was gonna get better and I wasn't wasting my damn time but it didn't. Nothing to correlate S1 at all and they should of continued where S1 left off. I'd be surprised if there's ever a S3.
Wow I don't even know how to describe my hate for this one, I was a huge fan of Genesis and then 3 years of hoping for a sequel gets me this pile of garbage. Dmon has it right, this is a beautifully drawn, yet unbearably shitty twilight anime that spits on the first season. I know a lot of people liked Nina but I wanted to strangle her with my shoe laces... except she would get turned on by that, turn into a dragon and promptly kill me. Killed by the worlds most retarded looking red dragon is not how I want to go. Rita is still an awesome character at least, why couldn't we get a side story with her as the main rather than this? Anyway /rant over, thanks for another upload DmonHiro, just wish it was a worthy sequel.
Yes, Rita was awesome this season. She basically saved everyone else... TWICE! Nina stared off great: a strong feisty girl with a sense of justice that wasn't afraid to get in and protect someone in need human or demon. Then as soon as king Douche showed up she went Bella Swan on us. Ooishi Shizuka (the writer) should be ashamed of herself.
The fact that she started out so strong only made it worse for me. When I first started watching my first thought was, "cool she's a bit hyper, but that isn't really a bad thing, she has some hidden strength, and holy shit look at that beautiful animation" Not a bad start. Then her first transformation came around and I thought, "OK so they went with the turned on = transformed method... I can live with that I guess, I've certainly seen worse examples." Then I saw her dragon and thought, "wait... why does her dragon from have down syndrome?" But it was still dragonish powerful so I could live with that too. Then comes Emo Demon and king ala'douche aka Edward and Jacob via twilight rip off, and NIna's personality took a head first dive downhill till I found myself just loathing her.
I was really enjoying the series until they fu@ked it up beyond repair. It's still worth a watch though! Completely agree with 'DrWolfnstine13' post, I wanted Nina to just die along with the king, that Cinderella bullshit was super annoying!
If there's a movie or a S3 I hope they put Nina in check and leave her as a side kick and leave the rest to the man, Favaro to shine. I mean they would have to as he got nothing else left but freeing her since you know what happened in the last ep of this series it kinda seems that's where it may go. More Favaro especially Rita now that she got you know.
That was pretty much my opinion throughout the entire season. They really trolled those who loved the first season (easily top anime list in my opinion), thanks to the introduction of stupid ass Nina and Chris. "Azazel, too bad your friends died, FU, I'm in love", that made me so mad.
Nina and Charioce should die and then Favaro would be the MC, he basically became a babysitter. How did the creators fuck it up so much? There are some people out there that think Nina x Chris is the best thing that could've ever happened in this series, don't pay attention to those kids, some opinions are not to be taken seriously, they must be trolling.
I was thinking while watching early episodes "There is still hope, it might get better", yhm, sure..... The biggest disappointment award goes to.... Shingeki no Bahamut Virgin Soul!!!!! Clap it up everybody.
