In a round about way playing Final Fantasy VII back in my middle school days is what led me to get into the world of Japanese games and anime. The series and its music hold a very special place in my heart.
The MP3 files for this torrent come directly from the discs, all I've done is rename them and make some minor additions to the tagging (added total tracks, disk number and total discs).
I split the files into different folders by game, just seemed to make the most sense. Total duration for all 147 tracks: 08:51:04. FYI - each track has 3 embedded images, the 'front cover' is the cover scan above, the 'back cover' is the image originally embedded in the official MP3 files, and a third 'disc/media' image is taken from the popup menu and is different for each game.
I will most likely release the videos at some point, but if I do it won't be for a while yet - encoding 147 videos (294 if I do both 1080p and 720p versions) takes time.
I'll apologize in advance for any stupid mistakes (I always seem to make at least one in every release).
Any help seeding is always greatly appreciated.
For those interested only I put a spek analysis of the quality Square-Enix given compared to doing it yourself via the lossless version https://nyaa.si/view/1003503 of this if you prefer lossy quality but at a higher settings. I used Terra's Theme from Final Fantasy VI. Also, I used Awakening from Final Fantasy XI that EinsamerWanderer and I confirm isn't upsampled.
From left to right keys:
1. from Square-Enix, used Free-Format 320k CBR with unknown encoder so not LAME
2. Downsampling from 24 bit / 96.0 kHz to 16 bit / 44.1 kHz and converting it to LAME 3.99r 320k CBR (Insane)
3. Downsampling from 24 bit / 96.0 kHz to 16 bit / 44.1 kHz and converting it to qAAC using cabinet 2.64
