The problem isn't that Opus can't be played back on Android (it can), it's that the Android platform music indexing thing doesn't consider the Opus files music. This has been fixed in LineageOS and will hopefully soon be fixed in FairphoneOS too; Google of course doesn't give any shits because they're dumb motherfuckers who only care about themselves.
And for PowerAMP:
Back then when I tried out different music players it was the only decent one. The Android player (and some others) had a bug only previewing _one_ album picture for all songs (even when I gave the songs different pictures) and ofc they can't handle .opus (while .ogg works).
Probably there are better players out now, but I'm too lazy to switch to a different one.
