i downloaded Subdivers video Dennou Boukenki Webdiver DIVE1 - Webknight! Gladion.
command youtube-dl -f "bestvideo[ext=mp4]+bestaudio[acodec=mp4a.40.2]/mp4"
The best of it is 116MiB but this torrent 128.5 MiB
Other video file sizes are also different.
why different?
because:
1) It depends which program you use to rip the youtube stream. I use Jdownloader, which use ffmpeg to handle the streams, with some specific parameters. I do not know which parameters are used exactly.
2) Depending of the audio stream selected (youtube propose different format) by the program you use, then it will also impact the filesize when the audio and video track are muxed together.
3) Youtube sometime re-encode video and audio streams, usually when they decide they have a new set of default encoding parameters or new format or whatever, dont ask me.
Also note that youtube also tag absolutely each and every video stream with some extra atom metatag which uniquely identify a stream, so even if two person use the exact same program to download a stream from youtube, the hash of the file will be different (though filesize should be identical)
@Permidion
I downloaded the video using Jdownloader.
The best file size for that video was the same as the one I downloaded on youtube-dl.
So maybe Youtube re-encoded.
Thank you for answer my question.
