We use CRF 18, a high-quality bitrate setting that is a standard recommendation on Doom9 (the expert encoding forum). Rest assured that this video will look perfectly fine even when watched closely on a large screen. CRF 18 avoids pointlessly bloating bitrate for virtually no gain, so you get a great balance of quality and size.
[Audio quality]
This encode uses lossy Qaac encoding at Q127 (max quality) for audio that’s virtually transparent (sounding the same as the original source) at a small filesize. If you are in the 2% of watchers concerned about AAC artifacts, look at our larger release: https://nyaa.si/view/1067145

@bingewatcher there is no valid reason to do a 720p version as that would include a whole set of new encodes and x265 is not that efficient in this resolution.
So no there is no 720p version coming. as I actually never do.

The production resolution of that show is 720p. So, everything higher than that is technically a waste of space.

@exmedic it's not really, also I do not care for that site you use, it does waste space in the sense of I have to do an additional encode for no reason, meaning I waste seedbox space.
BTW I know the site, though I take the site with a grain of salt, if the release comes with 1080p resolution it goes out that way,.
720p downscale has no real use case here, considering the small sizes we already are achieving here with x265 combined with QAAC. X265 is also not that efficient on a 720p resolution so that's also a reason to not make an 720p encode.
I also do not because the [Small] Version is already a partial dupe so I would have 3 versions.
I asked for 720p bcz seeing how good u encoded the video.350mb per ep for 1080p is extremely good.just 720p saves lot of space so that's the main reason I asked it.Still consider doing 720p.I will seed it for a long time.Thanks for the reply.
Tester here, I rechecked audio streams for this anime, it is syncing correctly with the video, and/or any dubbing in this encode should be synced correctly with the video as well.
thanks i guess, but seeing as the eng dub is the default one (as it should be for dual audio), then the signs and songs subs should also be the default one, not the full subs.
@BClaude "should be" ? ... it either is or it isn't, what kind of "tester" doesn't know ?
