I was considering doing this myself, but these subs are certainly accurate enough that I can’t feel bothered if you’ll be keeping this up. For one, the dialect was written a lot better than anything I would have ever bothered with. But try to be a bit more conscious about stylistic stuff, for instance a lot of sentences are missing full stops (some of these issues were fixed at https://nyaa.si/view/1211131), and you wouldn’t use “ahh” in English the same way you’d use あ〜 in Japanese (“oh” or “aw” is usually a safe bet). Also, I’m not sure where “raw cane sugar” came from at 02:13 - a guess based on what’s written on the bag? Feels pretty odd to include it when she doesn’t explicitly mention it in the Japanese. For reference, in standard Japanese that line would be うまいドーナツをあげるから食べなさい. Anyway if you feel like stopping by the GJM Discord there might be people willing to help you out with stuff like typesetting. I can try to help you with any dialect you’re struggling with. P.S. “Brought to you by ~” watermarks are pretty tacky.

@Myaamori Thanks for the feedback. The donuts thing was just a silly reference to the weird English used on the company website (see information link in the torrent), not a serious attempt at translation. Assumed not enough people would watch this to even notice haha. I'll drop by the discord before releasing the next one I guess, it would be nice to have help with typesetting and stuff

@Jaons: Hey, your translation seemed solid to me, but the script would have benefited a lot from an editor (punctuation and phrasing, but also stock translations and ones that don't really have the right nuance, such as Myaamori's example – similarly, え？ is usually better as "Huh?", "What?" or just ignored, with "Eh?" not really being accurate). There are some other suggestions like raw choice, dialogue styling and typesetting that I'm sure the Discord people will point out, but to start, I can edit the full script if you'd like – I'm jymmy on IRC or jymmy#1648 on Discord.

@jymmy I appreciate the offer and I know that your and Myaamori's comments are well intentioned, but I honestly disagree that 'Eh' should always be localised into something else. For the most part, the things you might see as stilted or improper are deliberate decisions I make while working on it, as my opinions on translation and localisation might be different from what other people who fansub are used to, not to mention even being from different parts of the English speaking world will render differences in opinion regarding this kind of thing. That said, the points about the punctuation and stuff are definitely valid, that was my bad. I got used to breaking up sentences without periods and just kind of stopped putting them in my subs at some point, and this issue is present in the entirety of my release of Ride Your Wave. I just continued doing that without realising, but this is definitely a mistake I will take care to avoid in the future.
