The Gremlin release was alright, but this is better. Massive orange outlined subtitles make me sad =(. Thanks as always for your hard work GJM.

The biggest issue with the Gremlin release is the subs it's based upon. The prosubs for To aru shows are just REALLY bad. Gremlin's adjustments don't go far enough to fix the various translation errors in each series. Respect the effort they go to, but yeah, it's a band-aid at best sadly.

I really enjoy your subs and prefer them the most. I wish Onee-sama and the -san at the end of the names was left intact.

To be fair, you also had some stupid TL errors in Index. Nobody is perfect. That said, I'd watch prosubs over some random release, like Gremlin. And I'd watch Vale over some prosubs. We made far fewer mistakes than the shitshow that was the Index 3 prosubs. Most of the batch fixes were consistency-based. Only a small handful of real TL errors existed across all 26 episodes.

@Nep_ko I personally prefer honourifics to stay in, but it's a minor thing. That said, 'Darling' actually works though, as it conveys the meaning without being obnoxious and stilted (Like 'sissy' or 'sister') which doesn't quite convey HOW Kuroko uses the word, but 'Darling' very much does.

Lack of honorifics aren't that big a deal to me....but "miss" "mr" exchange for "san" always bothered me. I'll rather nothing was there. But "sama" into "miss" I was actually fine with. Long as you don't change "chan" into "little". There's only one person in anime who I'll allow that to. And she's definitely not in this anime (though I wouldn't be surprised if she did make a cameo). "Onee-sama" to "Darling" I don't mind. While it is very much wrong as a translation....it does correctly carry the feelings behind the word and it's no where near as irritating as "sissy".

Ah forgot to say this but. Umu, I missed Kongou.

Heavy emphasis on nitpick, looking through those. Large sections of your inaccuracies are actually nitpicks too, or potentially things that would worsen the English without changing very much at all on the JP accuracy front. Nonetheless, we'll review them and see if there's anything worth changing based on a second opinion.

While I do think a lot of those inaccuracies are indeed nitpicking, I agree with the "Queen" change. The issue here is that the term is not solely used by Misaki's followers, it's quite literally her nickname in the school. It's also meant to contrast with Mikoto's nickname as "Ace of Tokiwadai", with Misaki instead being the "Queen of Tokiwadai". Mikoto is more powerful in combat and is ranked higher than Misaki (just like an ace is higher than a queen in cards), but prefers to work alone, while Misaki, just like a queen, has a lot more charisma and has the single largest faction of followers in Tokiwadai (as well as her powers literally involving controlling people, just like a medieval absolute monarch had full control over their subjects). Thus translating it as "your Majesty" not only misses the fact that it's supposed to be a proper nickname and not solely a term of respect from her followers, but also doesn't retain the duality with Mikoto's nickname.

We'll look into changing that particular one. Our resident To aru expert is agreeing with you too, Razorhead. The best time to point things like this out are the first time they happen. If we need to reconsider our approach to stuff due to our lack of expanded-universe knowledge, we will.

Eh, meh, I guess I am gonna have to retract that statement I mean on the other torrent about onee-sama not having a reasonable match in English. Though I'd never want to use something as cringeworthy as "darling," it is probably the only way to translate onee-sama without completely butchering its meaning.
