Resolution 1920 x 1080 is retained and encoded directly from bluray box. The original aspect ratio is kept untouched as well as no either sharp or other enhancement filter is used.
Encoded directly from BDbox to MKV H265 10bit.

The difference is blur (fog) is erased with filters, It looks cool in picture 1 but it is is not good in picture 2 :S

If I consider adding some filters little bit & before encoding, this is the result: ( well, I think I have reduce brightness and increase contrast to get results similar to filter enhancements :/

......................................................
I am working on other projects at the moment, but after I finish I will be focusing on encoding Inuyasha :)
Notice: Audio will be English & Japanese and for Subtitle (soft-sub) will be:English & Spanish. For the source of the container will be: H265 10bit . why not (H264) :( because series is very long and it is better to make less size.
i prefer the filter but both look great especially on larger screens i would love if you did it and despite the dislike you might get from some people. Also is there any chapters on the blu ray please add
First where did you get the english subs and dub isn't this https://nyaa.si/view/1168312 or https://nyaa.si/view/1211519
So, there is a difference between remastered one and remastering it yourself
unless there is a correct release it will be upscaled dvd release - released as bd like they did with chobits
So, yeah don't waste your time encoding something that isn't right
also 500-700mb is decent size, if you are going to archive it
My suggestion, mention the source and the colors are a bit off, give this masterpiece a check https://nyaa.si/view/975589
bonkai77 he was a indeed a master of enhanced and filtered content
also we want more test releases like you are doing since the past 10days
@Tjorna, Gee, thank you, i feel like i don't deserve it. i am blessed and can finally attain peace now that Tjorna has accredited me with such a honorofic title.
also judging by the screenshots here, it looks lik it's not worth the effort the source is obviously a bicubic/bilinear upscala with no benefits over the dvd
> source is obviously a bicubic/bilinear upscala with no benefits over the dvd
bruh, just imagine dvd's mpeg2 on dynamic scenes
and no, you can't do such thin lines with just bilinear/bicubic
filter "enhancements" are crap (never touch them please) and bitrate too low, preset is weak too
inspect please https://x265.readthedocs.io/en/latest/index.html
screenshots overcompressed with jpeg
@Darkulime Thanks for doing this. Can you upload some screenshot comparison between DVD, Spanish Blu-ray and the encode done by you. I just want to see the color difference. Also 350MB is the perfect file size for this anime.
@aptop6 done ^^ BDs is similar to my encode without adding anything . I am not gonna messed up with aspect ratio anymore . However, I will take your feedback in consideration to consider which are the best when it comes to colors and filters....
https://pasteboard.co/J6Athf5.jpg This one looks the best imo atleast color wise but there's some weird outline going on around that lady holding the basket.
@aptop6 @D3NPA not just that look at creepy Kagome's eye :/
yep that is why sometimes producer added too much blur and grain to hide those XD . Anyway, I think I will reduce brightness and add little more contrast to this version https://pasteboard.co/J6DNfaa.jpg to be almost similar to the enhanced version with some blur to hide those creepiness lol and I will post those screenshot so if u like it , I will consider those changes .
ok those little fix over https://pasteboard.co/J6DNfaa.jpg , I reduce brighness while increasing contrast and satiuration little bit with some enhancement to remove blur.
before encoding
https://pasteboard.co/J6HK9i7.jpg
After encoding (not sure cuz I feel it is similar with one from before with brightness, but saturation make it outfocus)
https://pasteboard.co/J6HK92f.jpg
Encoding with very strong deblock (but it get uglier) :(
https://pasteboard.co/J6HK7lw.jpg
.......
u can compare with this
https://pasteboard.co/J6Athf5.jpg
if u didn't like the final fix : https://pasteboard.co/J6HK92f.jpg
we will go for the original:
https://pasteboard.co/J6As2dj.jpg
Make up your mind ^^
@aptop6
https://pasteboard.co/J6As2dj.jpg this is original version, I just encoded directly to mkv H265 10bit which is the same video in this torrent ^^ I think I will just encode directly, so we don't lose any details , I convert to mp4 just to fix sound timing for the english version and add missing sound tracks. stay tuned till I finish it all ^^
Why are people STILL saying that this Inuyasha Blu-rays are upscale? IT DEFINITILY IS NOT. Go check videos ripped from the spanish blu-rays on youtube before coment these bullshits.
@megusto123
no one said that , except some trolls who claim dvds remastered are better than bd box lol besides I do have those DVD remastered version , no difference lol except those dvds remastered changed aspect ratio with some added filters check this is from DVD remastered, since someone ask me to upload, but nyaa delete them quickly. look at this screenshot from dvd remastered vs Bd box original
and also normal dvd
BD:
https://pasteboard.co/J6As2dj.jpg
DVD Remastered:
https://pasteboard.co/J6Jw7HS.jpg
DVD normal:
https://pasteboard.co/J6DJzxr.jpg
My Enhancement : but sadly I am not gonna make this since it is really suitable as wallpaper than to be in video, I used photo editting to play with colors and I cannot apply this on video since video editting doesn't give many options
https://pasteboard.co/J6Athf5.jpg
If I ever, for reasons unknown, wanted to have filters on my chinese cartoons I would apply them in video player of my choice. Or codec of my choice. Or graphic card software. Or monitor setting. Or run it with ffmpeg's filter_complex. But that's just me, I guess.
for now we will stick to the original version from BD, no filters will be added since it really is not possible to apply same setting on all episodes :/
for anyone claiming the source is an upscale. have you even watched it? it's very clearly not upscaled as it has details that are not visible on the dvds and if it is upscaled than it is the best upscale ever produced
I think I will leave it as it is since I did adjust both saturation and contrast on different base and reducing brightness, but not good results. more contrast and less saturation> make color whitish while the opposite if I considered more saturation than contrast , color turn yellowish and out of focus ... yea it need more work, so I will stick to the original.
@Darkulime
Just watched your encode , I found some encoding artefacts in dark areas (monster's hairs in 17-18 minutes of the video) and also some around lines and high contrasts colors (example around 19:42 with inuyasha "pulsing")
Must be because the original have a strong analogic noise so the encoder creates artefacts because of this fine noise
Having a little bigger bitrate could reduce the artefacts
The encoding is still pretty good don't get me wrong :)
I Hope to see other Blu-ray episodes of inuyasha from you
and sorry for my poor english
