I might actually have to check the series out. The ones who seem adamantly opposed to it are the same ones who champion those garbage isekais that are the same fucking show over and over again, or the nauseating loli trash. Their opposition is practically a screaming endorsement of quality.

it will stop at 13 eps. at the rate the anime is going, they'll finish the first manga season, which is 70 chapters, and its also the prologue

lawlaw : if you think all isekai, which is a genre, are the same, you are the thrash here. It's like saying that a romance is always the same, because it's a person and an other falling in lover together and that's it. Try to compare Kono Suba and Youjo Senki, you'll see.

You can go ahead and list 1 or 2 'unique' isekais, and I'll give you 4 or 5 where a sad Japanese man dies in a heroic and or pitiable way and reincarnates in what amounts to a power fantasy where they coast through life building a harem that they ultimately do nothing with and any form of drama or tension is resolved when they realize they are basically a walking god. Alternatively what is also popular is a revenge fantasy, and so far only Arifureta (my god what a train wreck) has been adapted, but I assure you there are plenty of manga that are just waiting for an adaptation that hopefully will never be once some goddamn quality control is done on this industry and these turds get flushed. Konosuba is basically the isekai equivalent to Onepunch-Man, a parody commentary on the formulaic shounen battle genre. Shield Hero as well took the genre in a serviceable direction. Aside from that, yeah, isekai is a trash genre. It falls under the fish out of water manner of story-telling, and most of the light novels these series are based on came about around the same time and lack any form of originality aside from what gimmick is used to ultimately overpower the protagonist.

this show is less trash than everything else this year except Dorhedoro.

Some sweet world-building, character progress in this episode, topped off with another awesome girl-fight (well, part1 anyway). They're cramming storyline pretty hard, but it looks like it's working to me. Of course, I don't have a fresh perspective.

The one thing that isekai, moe-blob and Tower of God have in common is all of them are trash.
