I hope this show gets better, I like the idea, but the story is lacking, at best. Anyone reading the manga?

The anime has already passed the manga. A light novel exists (probably) but I couldn't be bothered to read it. Chances are, this will likely be how the story is going forward. You have a cocky overpowered person who will never be challenged in any meaningful way and will overcome all obstacles with ease. A power fantasy.

@wiegert - I've read a couple volumes of the LN, or at least I'm pretty sure it's the LN of this series (I haven't started watching this). The general description is the same anyway. I got bored of the LN at that point, and I'm usually OK with generic premises. Pretty much just the usual 'surprised to find themselves OP after testing themselves against the so-called elite', with the additional usual trope of multiple girls trying to claim him.

uh it lost potential after episode 2 to be anything great, but it was a mahouka vibe power fantasy kinda trash I can watch, not sure if I can finish it though
