![alt text](https://i.imgur.com/pWdLqDs.png "Cover") > The date is 2002, three years after the events of Mobile Police Patlabor: The Movie. The destruction of a United Nations Labor team in south-east Asia begins the build-up to a deadly terrorist plan that threatens to send shock waves throughout Japan's military. > >With evidence of an impending military takeover, the scattered members of the original SVD (Special Vehicle Division) must gather to defend the city against danger. To make matters worse, the mastermind behind the operation is none other than Nagumo's former teacher and ex-lover Tsuge. Can Nagumo stay true to her oath to uphold the law in the face of Tsuge's destructive plan for revenge? > >The countdown to armed revolution and panic on the streets of Tokyo begins now... [source anidb](https://anidb.net/anime/395) Encoded from the US BD. Dual Audio: Japanese (5.1 Dolby TrueHD), English [Bandai] (5.1 FLAC), English [Manga Entertainment] (Stereo FLAC). Since my original release was a re-encode and I recently got my hands on the US BD Box, I thought these were worth a revisit. I swapped the US BD's Japanese PCM track fro the HK's Dolby TrueHD track because I find it to be a more flexible format. Includes special features this time. **Differences with v2: Inclusion of the Manga Entertainment dub thanks to kannikanno. Available in the DDL if you just want to update the previous version instead of re-downloading.** I will be doing the TV series and 2nd OVA series later, since they were a separate continuity and they will take more time I decided to not to wait around releasing them. Where did you source the Manga audio so it could sync up? This has been a holy grail for me for many many years.
sxales: Thanks for this rip of the US blu-ray <3 rd1979: I found a AAC 2.0 @ 160 kb/s rip from the 2005 Madman PAL DVD (don't remember anymore who shared it on BakaBT). Converted the Hong Kong blu-ray video to 25 fps, synced the audio. Then slowed down the audio to 23.976 fps, so it could sync with blu-ray video normally. I've read Patlabor 2 was dubbed at 25 fps, but for my ears it doesn't sound unnaturally slowed down in proper film speed. Since the US blu-ray has about a second more audio at the beginning, just a little delay is needed. ...Hopefully, someone else can share their sync edit / FanRes of this older English dub in higher quality, in stereo and/or upmixed 5.1.
kannikanno: Thanks for your efforts. I remember watching the Manga dub on the "Action channel" (Now Starz Action), literally 20 years ago, so I dunno why people think it was dubbed at 25 fps (probably because the only sources of it were PAL DVDs).
@rd1979 @kannikanno It was not dubbed at 25fps. If you compare the music on the original Manga DVD (25fps) to the official soundtrack it is wrong pitch i.e. PAL speedup. So slowing it down to 23.976fps along with pitch is the correct thing to do (exactly what kannikanno did). However whats funny, is on Patlabor 1 Manga DVD (PAL/25fps), the pitch is correct and plays at the same speed as the BD despite different frame rate. So I guess that was a straight NTSC->PAL transfer and explains why the picture quality so bad. The PQ on Patlabor 2 Manga DVD is much better (although still awful by today's standards).
