Here is a bit of an oddity I found lying around the web: the 2003 anime adaptation of the old tokusatsu series "Barom One." This torrent contains the first two episodes as MKVs, which use older DVD rips as their source. The first episode was subbed by Kingmenu AGES ago, and I had to include that fansub in this torrent, because it was a) hardsubbed and b) there are no raws available for this series, and the R2 DVDs went OOP a long time ago. The second episode is courtesy of yours truly, who salvaged an old ARR torrent and edited their subs for clarity, filled in any lines they missed, and fixed any translation errors. Didn't need to do much re-timing since I was using the same video the sub file was timed to. This episode is a softsub MKV. This Barom One anime reboot was produced between 2002 and 2003, and aired for 13 episodes. It features a similar setup to the original Barom toku series--two high school boys are tasked by the wizard Kopuu to combine into the superhero Barom One and defeat the evil Gomon--but the anime is different in many respects. For one, it takes place in the future year of 2013 (snicker), where holographic screens, electric cars, and touch pad newspapers are the latest technology (but, somehow, the heroes still have flip phones). The hero boys--Kentaro and Takeshi--are possessed by a strange power while surfing the Internet, and the voice of Kopuu comes through their PCs and gives them the run-down on what they need to do to save the world...and promptly disappears from the web forever. When the boys are joined as Barom One, our rebooted super-hero has a whole new appearance, and doesn't say a single word, aside from various shouts, grunts, and other such things. He also only seems to have one "Shining Fingah"--style move that is supposed to defeat every monster-of-the-week in one blow...but it doesn't always work. This clunker showed up on Enoki Films' U.S. website shortly after it aired and languished in their back catalog for years. Don't know if it'll ever get licensed now, but for the time being, we have these old, old DVD rips (and subs!) to keep us (mildly) entertained. Enjoy this rare piece of what will soon be "old-school" anime, and be sure to seed for a while after you're done!

Why just the first 2 episodes?

Because that's all I have done at the moment. This was mostly a test to see if anyone would even be interested in this old thing. If there is interest (and apparently there is), I'll go ahead and edit the remaining episodes and make a full-series torrent.
Ah, my apologies. Thank you for your hard work. And yes, at the very least, I am interested in this. I like older anime, and I've never seen this.

You think 2003 is older? Man, you would not like my other torrents, then...most of that stuff is 70's. This anime is extremely hard to find, and I only learned about it by surfing on Enoki Films' U.S. web site back in 2008 when it was still up and running. Enoki also had the U.S. rights to the J9 trilogy, but no one seemed interested in that either. Enoki was the company that brought the original Slayers TV anime to the states, and they were popular with Fox Kids as well, but those days are long, long behind us. They closed up shop sometime in 2012, I think, and just keep their Japanese branch office open now. They still have plenty of quirky anime you've never heard of in their catalog, including another torrent I uploaded, Mars the Terminator, which uses characters & mecha from the Giant Robo universe. You might like that as well; it is also hard to find and only exists as Hong Kong bootleg DVD rips with burned-in subtitles.
The show itself is pretty meh but man does it have an amazing OP. thank you for proper subs :)

@youwiththeface: You're welcome! I'll be working on more eps soon. Just keep in mind that ep #1 is still Kingmenu's usual poor job, and that it's even worse than usual, when you consider the age of the show. And you're right, the opening is awesome; it kinda surprised me as to how well it was done. Have a good one, and thanks for commenting, I appreciate it!
Huh, I -just- got done with gathering up all 13 episodes. If you can improve on this, then excellent!

@Digitsie: I will certainly try my best! Thanks for commenting, it means a lot!
sorry if i missed your point, but in theory there are raws with french softsubs available.

@pip3: Yes, I did see that torrent, but there is no separate subtitle script for episode 1 that I could find, so I'm still stuck with Kingmenu's work. If I can find some way around that (or if someone out there knows a way around it by using that French softsub), I would appreciate the help. ARR's releases are basically raws as well, since it was just a video file with a separate .srt file, but they did not sub episode 1, which is why I'm stuck where I am now. Thanks for your input, pip3!
You could always 'softscrub' by overlaying the french script over the hardsubbed video and copying the English, correcting as you go.
Excuse me Sir. Do you think to upload the episodes of the original tokusatsu show too?

@solarlord: There is a torrent here that GuST put together in 2019 that has perfect sound and video quality: https://nyaa.si/view/1176450, but right now it doesn't look like it's seeded. I know where I can get some other raws of the tokustatsu series, but they are 480x360 rips and appear to be from VHS or LD sources. If those work for you, then I'd be happy to upload them in a torrent. Just let me know!
For me it's fine Sir and I thank you again for your efforts here. :-)

@solarlord: You're welcome, man; it's my pleasure. I'll see about rounding up those toku Barom-1 episodes and uploading them in a complete raw torrent. It'll probably be sometime this week or on the weekend. Thanks for the suggestion, and you have yourself a great day!
you could also just ocr. it's surprisingly easy with subfinder & a cracked version of abby finereader. https://sourceforge.net/projects/videosubfinder/

@pip3: That's what I was looking for; I'm still new at this, and I'd never heard of subfinder. Thanks for the link & the tip; that'll help tremendously!
I remember when OCRing was a gigantic pain in the ass. It's so much easier now.
this Still going to be worked on ? Seeds be needed
