My second in command, DarkXyz, and I are huge fans of Yu-Gi-Oh! We happened to be discussing Yu-Gi-Oh! When working on Episode 03 of Crush Gear a while back, so on impulse we decided to work on Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, the black sheep of Yu-Gi-Oh, infamous for its hilariously bad dub, and its subs. We worked on Episode 01 independently along with CG E3, and we left it on the backburner for quite a long time. When we got more experienced, we decided to get the project up and running again, but instead remaking the subs based on their old filed instead of working on it again from scratch. The old subs were not accurately timed, and they(for the most part) lacked any form of localization and its translation was literal for the most part since many a number of lines had to be extended to fit the literality of the translation. So we took it upon ourselves to improve the quality of the translation by: 1)Retranslating the text to make it cohesive and more naturally sounding 2)Correct the mistranslations that were scattered all around the episodes 3)Duels were worked on to include meta terms and TCG names, for familiarity's sake 4)The Ending's lyrics translation was fixed from the ground up along with re-localizing the opening(the walls of text were quite big on that one) 5)Courtesy of EntameSubs, who made the fonts they use public, we decided on adopting their style of fonts to also make it similar to the currently ongoing subs of Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens(which is what kindled the close friendship DarkXyz and I share) The releases will be duel by duel for consistency's sake. If it was not for GX-ST, we would never be capable of doing this, so I am very thankful for their hard work on bringing the original Zexal to English speaking audiences.
