Well my dear furry aka pedophile, the japanese theatrical showing as well as the first vhs release and laserdisc release of the movie have less cgi than the 4kids based one the rest of the world got and the 'special edition' that is on the japanese dvd and blurays. Which is better? Well my dear weeaboo aka nazi I'm glad you asked! Honestly the art direction of the more cgi/4kids/modern version is nicer. Its not some starwars bullshit the cgi adds more life and bigger doom feel to the movie, but it IS important to preserve the original cut. The 5.1 japanese track was provided by the gigachad known as Akai, should be identical to what the japanese theaters had back in the day. The 5.1 english dub track is from my remux of the AUS bd. it didnt quite sync up perfectly due to this being a different cut than the modern version so it has a couple rough edges but its good enough for this.
