Episode names are embedded into each file's title property Audio: Japanese 16-bit PCM 2.0 Subtitles: English Subs The bluray chapters just seemed to be set in 1/4 increments and were also missing the OP and ED. I redid the chapters, adding the OP and ED segments and removing the extra chapters in between the first half and last half segments. The m2ts and the playlist (mpls) presents a single stream which had to be split/cut into episodes and disc 1 in particular was a pain in the ass to deal with. The mpls' default chapter timestamps for the start of each episode don't align with the keyframes and so there was no way to actually split the single stream exactly on episode boundaries. One has to compromise and choose having to start a little before or a little after the episode boundary. After several tries, I choose the latter, to start the episode a couple frames after rather than before. Splitting the stream just before the actual starting point of an episode results in an annoying flash of a few frames of the previous episode's post-ED preview segment at the start of playback. So the compromise is a clean start but unclean ending with a flash of the next episode's frames just after the ED preview segment. It is this way with disc 1 because the m2ts was encoded with fixed GOP settings M=3, N=23 (always 23 frames between I frames, or nearly one second) instead of letting the encoder handle it adaptively by scene changes. I had much better luck getting precise splitting for disc 2 since it was not encoded with fixed GOP settings. I left the audio as PCM in case anyone wants to trim off the last few frames of eps 1-6 without encoding or concatenate the files to form the original continuous stream again, which is very easy with mkvmerge. If you concatenate eps 1-6, and encode that single stream with x264/x265 without fixed GOP lengths, and avoid using flac at this point, then you could probably split the encoded stream precisely along episode boundaries.
