Thought this anime needs an alternative DVD release. IMHO, Urotsuki did a great job at removing artifacts while keeping the video as close to the source as possible. Other options for this anime are either Blu-ray releases, dead torrents, or [a-S] which looks good, but has too much editing and cropping done, for my taste. Also the subtitles did not have the best timing (It's mostly not noticeable) and its beyond my time and mental capability to fix it. Did not do QC, so feedback is appreciated.
@jiripraptak If you need sources for your works (like DVDs, BDs) I can provide (especially DVD sources).
For the "Slayers" series for example, I did make a release a few years ago so I had subs and dubs stored away from [a-s] in case of a re-release (to make things easier for me, tho idk if they are still stored somewhere) AND I have the BDISOs and DVDISOs for it all, in case I wanted to throw in a Remux or something like that for the entire "Slayers" franchise.
We can talk on Discord if you want >,<
@ShinMugetsu2000 Thank you for the offer. When it comes to encoding, I'm not really that skilled tho. I got my hands on some Slayers DVD ISO, but I could not do nearly as good job as Urotsuki did.
But it would definitely be nice to talk to someone from the community.
And also I'm currently looking for DVD source to the 2001 "Grappler Baki" series.
@Godim Because I think there is a possibility for better release. From what I could download, It seems that the best R2J encode is [A~A], which is heavily edited. While the best non R2J encode is [SEV] which looks better, but not as good as source, and it suffers from doubled frames (probably from incorrect IVTC) and frame bleeding (probably from using deinterlace instead of IVTC as per my previous point). I have managed to partially download the DVD source files from nyaa, and whipped out a comparison: https://slow.pics/c/SctdmSsr (I hope it stays up)
Would you create new encodes? What about the subs? The current encodes are trash, and the first 4 episodes of A~A include dubtitles instead of subtitles.
@Godim If I'm able to create better encode than is available, then I would release it. For subs, if it comes to it, I could OCR the first 4 episodes. Any more than that would be too much bother. My main issue is the dotcrawl. I have no experience removing it, so i would have to experiment.

Do you still need the DVD, or did you manage to download it? Are you going to do both seasons, or only the first one?
@Godim I have been downloading it for about 4 months with no luck in seeders. Also it's a non R2J source. I'm not sure which one has better picture quality, but I know the R2J has better OP. However if I can't get my hands on R2J, I will do the non R2J. And I would do both seasons. They are basically in the same bag when it comes to releases.
@jiripraptak Yeah it would be nice to have someone from the community to talk to, especially because this "bussines" is being done through connections, not by working solo, I always ask around if I can't get something and ppl really do help :D
Regarding the series you want to work on, I have 2 different DVDISOs for it, one is R1 which is probably United States or Australian (has around 71,23GBs) and the other is probably your R2J (idk what country tho because it doesn't specify) and has around 74,36GBs
You did mention you can't encode really well and honestly I can't too, most of my releases were based on others or I made Remuxes myself with stuff I got around so you shouldn't take out of consideration the fact that you can work directly with the DVD or Blu-Ray video/audio masters.
We can talk on Discord if you want to get those, and if you don't know about it, you can make an account here and download the software for PC: https://discord.com/

Thank you for this this torrent is not the shitty upscales japan did and its not the horrible funimation blu rays thanks to you I have finally found a release of this anime that's genuinely good
finally a good looking encode much closer to the source material! 99% of releases I've seen are just awful upscale crap.
Thank you. (will you upload Next and Try?)
