There isn't much demand for my work. Seeders and leechers are quite low. However, I can work on one or two anime next season, depending on the timing. Just tell me the name, and I'll see what I can do.
I have some ideas and wishes for how and what to encode.
How about meeting on chat? Best would be XMPP.
Information on XMPP chat at https://is.gd/iuBb7t
Alternatively, there is Rizon.
Let's not complicate things. I just created a basic discord server. Invite link: <https://discord.gg/2Tz4XDjUCD> Once there you can dm me or write in general channel.
Discord does not permit me to join without giving it a mobile phone number -- which I am not going to do.
That may have to do with me using an anonymizing proxy.
Discord promotes censorship and government corruption, so there would be a problem with using it even if they did permit me to.
There is a popular anime, same genre as DanMachi, you could say, which lacks AV1 encodes from BluRay:
Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu
At this time, there are no AV1 encodes from BluRay for it. I would love to have such an encode, but don't have the computer resources to make it myself. Seeding I can help with.
You can find full Blu-Ray data in the Raws section or in the other sections by searching for BluRay, Blu-Ray, BD, or ReMux. ReMux may already have subtitles and there are some for Mushoku.
For encoding of the video, I advise scaling down the luma dimensions to match the chroma, as was done on
https://nyaa.si/view/1623659
That means YUV420 to YUV444 and scaling in FFMPEG would be with
~~~
-sws_flags area+full_chroma_inp+full_chroma_int
-filter:v 'mpdecimate,scale=-1:ih/2'
~~~
That is going to give you more luma information in a pixel, so give it some more bits with `-pix_fmt yuv444p12le`
Some other parameters to consider, which you can put in an ffpreset file
~~~
aom-params=enable-dnl-denoising=0
aq-mode=1
frame-parallel=1
~~~
aq-mode is to help keep more detail in dark areas. Disable de-noising to keep more grain look.
You like making really small video files, so you may want to go with the default CRF=32. For high quality, go as high as CRF 15 and as low as 20.
I'm a big fan of your philosophy dreamboatcap (honestly I support anyone who isn't a weird FLAC cultist - it's fine for music, but anime audio? Seriously?), but you'd definitely be better served working on entire series. That's how your work will get noticed and get more preference in people's collections and how you can build a community up around your particular encoding preferences.
It will also inspire emulation from other encoders, which isn't a bad thing and is good for uh... "off the books" anime collectors as a whole.
If working on entire series isn't your cup of tea, I might also suggest looking for films that have been underserved by AV1/Opus encoders. There are a number of them.
