**Translation & Timing:** Satoshis Mom **Editing & Typesetting:** trubbish **Raw:** Puto **Spec:** Video Codec: x264, 8bit Video Resolution: 852x480 Video Frame Rate: 29.97fps (VFR) Audio Codec: AC3 (JP Track, DVD passthru), AAC (EN track, Pokemon.com) Subtitles: English (ASS) -- SOSSubs is proud to present the Pokémon Ranger: Traces of Light! (or "Hikari no Kiseki" in Japan and "Guardian Signs" for the western world.) This is a two-parter anime special that aims to be a glorified commercial for the then upcoming Nintendo DS games of the same title. While nothing overly exciting, this special is a bit of a rarity specifically in Japan. It saw a limited release only being aired on TV once and then available online & through rental DVD for a very limited time. Big thanks to Puto for restoring this one to it's original form using the best sources we could find! This release contains 2 audio tracks. The Japanese AC3 audio lifted directly from the Japanese DVD and the English AAC track taken from the dub video on Pokemon.com. **If you're watching through MPC-HC, there's a strange bug where it defaults to the English track (Track 2). This doesn't happen with any other player I've tried. Given MPC-HC is deprecated, this isn't an issue I'm too bothered about fixing. This is just a heads up.** This special aired during the Diamond & Pearl era. If you're watching along at home, the special aired between 166 & 167, just before the Pokémon Ranger episode itself. Though it doesn't tie-in to the main series in any way, I'd personally suggest watching it after 168 (as this ends on a cliff hanger). -- We're looking for more help. We currently have our main dedicated translator and a couple of us proofing, checking & editing everything. If you think you can help in anyway, feel free to get in touch! Especially on the look out for TLC! **Contact "mbc" on #pokemon @ irc.hoshinet.org** Next up...Who knows? We've actually just finished translating up till the end of Diamond & Pearl. If you wanna see this stuff out faster, do feel free to get in touch. We're just a bunch of old Slowpokes! -- Despite Puto being responsible for the RAWs, they are not in anyway affiliated with this release. We're just using the best sources currently available to us.

Thanks!! Since you mentioned that DP is done, any updates on Johto? Or is it planned on being one large batch with everything in one? But seriously, thanks for helping to finish the gaps in this series!

@grawl - Johto is a beast and we're still proofing it all. We've moved to a much better workflow now though so hopefully it'll pick up soon. Honestly, with us now sitting on Advanced Generation & Diamond & Pearl as well, the backlog has become huge for 4 already very busy people.

What would you guys prefer? -Release the episodes individually as they're done -Mini batches (5-10 episodes) -One big batch
I feel like small batches might work best when they are ready.
Individual would be nice, although I imagine a big batch at the end would also be very appreciated.
Can you please make v2 of your release of Indigo League using sarachikorita's rips and include softsubs instead of hardsubs?

@RyzakiT This will happen, yes. I should've made that clear before. Most likely every previous release will be reworked.
Do you guys need a TLC/Editor? I can understand like 90% of Japanese dialogue in pocket monsters..

Mhmm. Both would be a big help. You can reach out to me on IRC if you're interested in helping things move along.

Thank you so much :)

@tonikaku Source problem.
I suppose Johto wont be out until 2025?
So, is the plan to release a big batch once everything is done using the Japanese video with dual audio, Jap video with jap audio, or both video with both audio? Both (at least in the beginning) had differences in the video for different regions like the opening and eye-catches, etc.
