This is a remux of the 2022 US Blu-ray by Sentai Filmworks. From the looks of things this is more or less identical to the earlier release by Maiden Japan, of which Sentai bought out and has been slowly reselling and rereleasing the discs of.  From what I can gather, Maiden Japan bought the rights to Gunbuster the Movie years ago and put out a disc. My only guess as to why they bought the movie rights vs the full OVA rights might be because it was cheaper. Afterwards they were bought out by Sentai, who then began to rerelease many of their licensed anime, either by literally clearing out old stock or by producing new discs. In this case, there was a lot of hype when Discotek announced they acquired the rights to the full Gunbuster OVA and were producing a brand new English dub for it. However, because this dub took a long time to produce, there was a large multi-year gap between the announcement and release.  My guess is that during this gap, the old Maiden Japan blu-ray sold out, and sensing an oppurtunity, Sentai dusted off the old license and put out their own Blu-ray in an attempt to cash in on the hype a whole year before Discotek could put out their release. Of course, now that Discotek's release is out there and superior in basically every way, there's pretty much no reason to get this edited-down movie version, and as such it is being sold on clearance fairly cheaply. (In fact, that's the only reason I even bought it...)  Compared to Discotek's Blu-ray (of which you can find my release here: https://nyaa.si/view/1670981), there is overall just less content. The movie version basically cuts and rearranges scenes into a movie that is only about half the length of the OVA. Outside of the original theatrical release in which you got to see this in a theater, I honestly don't really see the point any more. But here it is. The video is mostly in 4:3 until it gets to the final episode, which is that classic 16:9 widescreen. The subtitles are different compared to Discotek, I suppose you can be the judge if they are better or worse. (In my opinion they're worse since the styling isn't as good.) Other than the movie itself, this release is pretty bare bones. The one thing this does have the the Discotek release doesn't is the 5.1 surround track; of course this was rerecorded in 2006 and the actors don't sound exactly the same as they used to. In terms of special features, there are only two. One is a behind-the-scenes video about the rerecording for the 5.1 surround track. The other is a commentary track by the cast of Diebuster, which is included as another audio and subtitle track with the main movie file. Other than that, there really isn't anything else. Consider this a supplement to the Discotek release.
