======================================================================================== [Shen Long] Dragon Ball Super - Movie 01 - Broly [+Bonus Material] [BD-Remux] [Dual Audio] ======================================================================================== ![Broly](https://i.postimg.cc/br3Nfr81/DBS-Movie-1.jpg) Sources Used: Video, Japanese audios and subtitles, and chapters: Japanese Blu-ray and Bonus DVD English audio and subtitles: UK Funimation Blu-ray, subtitles edited a little ======================================================================================== Notes: I was browsing through my files one day and noticed our old encode. "Why are we having encodes in 2024?", I asked myself. And here you are, looking at a new remux, with some slight improvements. And of course, the last 2 DBZ movies will get this treatment too. The English audio was re-synced. I don't recall how well I did it before, but this time I did it with extreme precision. I also now synced the subtitles by video, meaning that they now appear and disappear at the exact same time they would on the Funi disc, which should result in them syncing perfectly with the video if they appear/disappear during scene changes. Also, the Japanese subtitles and descriptive audio was also included, making this actually Triple Audio, although I kept the title as Dual Audio, as I don't think it really counts as a full audio, and that it might be considered misleading if I'd put Triple Audio there. Also, this time all available bonus material is present: everything from the Japanese Blu-ray and its Limited Edition Bonus DVD, and the UK Blu-ray is included. As before, I still couldn't bring myself to subtitle the bonus material on the Japanese Bonus DVD. Not only would I have the time them all, which I really hate, I'm also not sure our team has the skills to translate them from scratch. Translating a complex conversation about the production and marketing of a movie is a lot more difficult then, let's say, next episode previews for a couple DB episodes that were lacking them... I could probably use something like Whisper AI, and by manually checking the result, I would probably get to a reasonable translation, but I don't have the time for that at the moment, so I decided to just include them as RAW video, and marked them as such in the filenames. I thought that would be better then to leave them out. Japanese Bonus Materials I decided to remux, but I left the Funimation Bonus Material as encodes, to be honest, mainly to preserve some hdd space, and because I don't really care about them personally. I'm sorry for being selfish. I might upgrade them to remuxes if I ever update this with subtitles for the RAW Japanese stuff, but I also might not. Interlaced Bonus DVD content was left alone like that, as they are also left as remuxes. Please tell me in the comments how you guys feel about that. Should I have encoded and IVTC'ed it, or are you happy I left it like this? Excepting RAW's, I decided to omit the [Dual Audio]/[Subbed]/Etc. tags from the actual filenames. You can now count on it that every dub available at the time of release is included on everything we release. So if a file has no RAW tag, that means it's at least either subbed or originally English, and if it has no English audio, there wasn't one available at the time of release. I did this to keep the filenames clean and short. Does this mean the Shen Long team is back? No... Yes... Maybe? Time will tell. You can at least count on Battle of Gods and Resurrection F getting this same treatment. And I've got something special (yet very time consuming) in store for the latter's 3D-version... ;-) ======================================================================================== Screenshots: https://i.postimg.cc/DZ6vk0Pn/01.png https://i.postimg.cc/90BJB52x/02.png https://i.postimg.cc/YqbdGHb0/03.png https://i.postimg.cc/4d65JkYJ/04.png ======================================================================================== Original poster is included. [Pendekar] Dragon Ball - Movies & Specials [Dragon Box] [Multi Audio] (Speedy Dub added, October 2017) this still alive in ur seedbox? stucked 54% since 2023😥
The best Super movie so far (and I'm including BoG/RF which are part of Super's universe than Z).

@seth001: No, I don't have most of those files anymore, as I was in the process of updating them with newly surfaced dubs and resynced Funi audio, in addition to doing the JP BD versions as well. Already finished the first 2 movies, the 3rd one is being worked on. Everything under the old Pendekar name is dead. Nobody in our team still has (all of) those files. Also, thanks to SoM, I learned about the pixel aspect ratio thing. Might wanna look into that for the DVD encodes. Or should I leave the Dragon Box versions as remuxes, too? Kinda in doubt on that. @Impakt: Not totally sure I agree. BoG comes really close to this IMO, but I think this one indeed wins by a hair's breath. And let's face it, topping that other movie which was released under the "Super" title is not very difficult. Heck, I might even prefer "The Magic Begins" over that movie lol.
@Impakt I saw what you said about the AB group putting out DB and you hope they do the same with DBZ As of right now what is the best 1080p or 4k version of DBZ on nyaa? is it ikaos?
Okies... Imma wait [Shen Long] Dragon Ball Movies patiently... Thanks pukulan10jurus!
@ Eckhart SoM has done an HD upscale of the Dragon Box Z which you can find elsewhere (should show up on search engines) other than that it's the Selecta upscale or the FUNi 30A remaster. Not great.
@Impakt Do not mind my other comments in one of your videos, thanks for answering. i like ikaos' remix of it because I want the ocean dub in that 4k quality. The dragom box i never understood why people revere it so much when its in 480p. How does SoM match up to ikaos? and is it not available on nyaa?

Upscales are not allowed on here, so that's why those aren't on nyaa. And why people love the Dragon Box so much is because unlike the "Black Bricks", they aren't messed up. At least not any further then they need to be. Upscaling the Dragon Box is also exactly what AB and SelectaVision did, by the way... ;-)
@pukulan10jurus Ah I see. I remember ikaos having some of those blu ray sets with the original FUNi dub and ocean dub too. Honestly I'm been fixing to do my own version of DBZ with the ocean dub for the original 50-something episode and then original FUNi dub before the orange remasters with the original Toonami openings. Any idea on any programs I should use besides handbreak?

Depends on what you're planning to do. Encoding/Audio syncing/etc. I would recommend x264 or ffmpeg for encoding, Audacity for audio syncing, Aegisub for subtitle styling/timing, and mkvtoolnix for muxing. There are already versions of those openings out there that are extended to match Dragon Box video BTW.
@pukulan10jurus I am aware of the ikaos stuff but what I'd want would be something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3dH9hA183s inserted in. Never been a fan of the cha-la-la one. I grew up with the rock the dragon intro and old school Vegeta before Sabbat decided to re-do his lines. For me DBZ has 276 episodes, not 291. For me there is no Gohan filler in the first episode or Bulma's crab fighting adventure on Namek. This'll be a personal project

I meant that there is a version of both that opening, and Ocean's opening (And Westwood's opening too) that is remixed to match CHA-LA in length, so you could fit it to Dragon Box footage. But I now understand you want to sync the video to the audio, similar to those "Remastered" versions in the Ocean/Westwood dub torrent? In that case, you'll probably need to be able to cut video with frame precision. Look into ffmpeg and avisynth. And prepare yourself for a fuckton of work. TMpgEncWorks may do the job (a lot) easier, but will produce inferior encodes to the avisynth route.
@pukulan10jurus Appreciate the advice and i am prepared for that fuckton of work. What should i use for the best audio and video bitrate, encode, etc to get this done? Avisynth and MKVtool?

If your encoding video, ffmpeg or x264 and avisynth, and muxing with mkvtoolnix, yes.
@Eckart FYI I am part of SoM and all of their releases supersede my old releases. We are currently working on color correcting Z and GT (DB is already done) however we don't have anything in "HD" although we recommend using MPV with spline36 scaler which will scale properly to your screen size. The SoM upscale that Impakt is talking about was done by Ronin and you can find it on Anidex although it's fairly outdated at this point. As far as what you want to do there is no way to make the 276 episode version "4K" unless you upscale the original DVDs, and even then if you want to paste Toonami OPs on them then you'd have to find and upscale those and do some video encoding and audio editing in order to make what you want. It might be easier to just look into ordered chapters for mkv which will can play a certain file before each episode so you don't have to mux it. In my opinion I would stick with the Rock The Dragon remux for 1-53/67 and then the SoM release's 4th audio track (labeled as the OG FUNi dub) for the rest of the episodes as that gives you literally everything you want except for Toonami OPs. Also the bit with Bulma fighting the crab on Namek is still in the Ocean dub.
@iKaos Appreciate you replying. I'm still deciding what I want to do with all of that, and I've found a guy on YouTube, slimD716 who has a lot of those older promos in HD so it could be possible, maybe. once again thanks for replying and for the info, appreciate you and i have your stuff in my dbz harddrive. much love
@pukulan10jurus Would you be interested to do a release for the Slam Dunk Blu-rays in the future? Or maybe the new Slam Dunk movie?

Hell, no! I hate that show. I also hate how it has a JP BD release while DB hasn't. Also, I'm short on time as it is. Not taking on any other projects unless they are super easy and within my field of interest.
