Thanks for subbing this, Anon. I don't know why no groups are picking this show up, it's nothing to write home about but it's some kind of modern Akagi.
anon is still translating jihai as "noble tile" instead of the widely accepted "honor tile" smh also "a real man declares riichi on every win" doesn't make sense, hand instead of win would fit there better.
Copied from /a/: Using "noble tile" instead of "honor tile" is pretty much a miss on my side. I will be careful from now on. It seems the term never came up in episode 4 at least. The line about calling riichi on every yakuman is not something I am proud of. The original line was [男なら勝負どころはたとえ役満でも立直だ]. Maybe a more proper translation would be something like "In the decisive moments, a real man would riichi his hand, even if it's a yakuman". I agree that my take ("A real man calls Riichi on every win, even if it's yakuman!") doesn't really translate the meaning all that well and also may feel a bit weird (you don't call riichi on a win, you call it before you win). Of course, going with the suggested "every hand" would make a bit more sense, but would still lose the full meaning (Doujima wasn't saying that you should riichi every hand blindly, he said that you should riichi the important hands - including yakuman). In retrospect I should have given this line more attention when translating ep 3, because it is one of the key lines of the episode. I will try to be more careful next time. Who knows, if friendly users will keep pointing out my mistakes, maybe I will become a real anime translator by episode 25.
