Special thanks to unowen for stealing the insert music for us
Based on the 21-year-old translation by [Random Masters]. The quality of that varied, but was generally above the average for VHS-era subs. Adding songs was the most painful part. It was [Nineteen](https://nyaa.si/view/1889428) all over again. This one had 13 (!) songs spread across a 50-minute film. Nearly every scene here has some special BGM.
WOWmd started the project by buying and domesdaying an LD; a few months later I carved out a free minute, TLCed it, added all the songs and typesetting, translated the theatrical trailer that comes at the end of the LD; Eternal Blizzard answered my call for QCers at GJM, WOWmd offered to QC himself as well.
This release comes with a theatrical trailer, included at the end of the recording.
So, this show now has subs by DOMO, by Kingmenu, and by Perevodildo. Truly, the holy trinity of ESL.
TL notes:
* The quotation marks in the title are intentional: the manga's original title (「エイジ」) also comes with Japanese quotation marks, so it's officialy a part of the author's vision.
* We’ll have a real shot at landing a TV show audition! - he actually says "aim for the Ikaten," referring to "[Miyake Yuuji's Band Heaven Showcase](https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E4%B8%89%E5%AE%85%E8%A3%95%E5%8F%B8%E3%81%AE%E3%81%84%E3%81%8B%E3%81%99%E3%83%90%E3%83%B3%E3%83%89%E5%A4%A9%E5%9B%BD)" - a TV show which ran in 1989-1990 and allowed amateur bands to have their 15 minutes of fame.
* "Secret Shoes" mentioned in one of the songs is the Japanese name for the special men's shoes with extended heel to make the men appear taller. I translated it as "Elevator Shoes."
* What am I supposed to do for the rest of my life? Cut my hair short and run a ramen shop? - actually, Eiji refers to the [Punch Perm](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punch_perm), a haircut, typical for retired boxers in Japan. The ramen shop part - not so sure, might be coming from Ashita no Joe.
