While this anime is the type of shit you watch since there's nothing else on and it's just marginally better than watching paint dry so nobody really expects a good level of production value, that cityscape is probably the most shitass garbage cityscape I've ever seen in any anime fight lmfao. Like maybe you can give the show the benefit of the doubt that Sunraku is not playing a "god-tier" game right now so the in-universe graphics of the environment is two tiers below the level of Minecraft? It's like watching someone play an indie browser game made up of 4 polygons. You know what it kind of reminds me of, that Attack on Titan tribute game from like, I want to say 2014? You guys remember that? I just looked it up and it's AoTTG by Fenglee, if y'all don't know what I'm talking about you should check that out. Apparently it's no longer being maintained but some volunteers made a sequel AoTTG2, and it's exactly like that. But instead of Wall Maria or whatever that city's called, it's a shittier version of that city in Nier: Automata. This episode is like watching someone play that game in an anime, but like, instead of being a kind of fun experience like playing that game back when I was 17, this episode (and this entire snail paced horseshit anime for that matter) is just another 20 minutes of my miserable life that passed by. Imagine putting all the production value into the prelude of the game in the middle of the episode which nobody gives a fuck about, literally even the MC skipped that part. At least overlay some seamless grimey texture pack from Photobucket on the walls, how are buildings in city ruins that straight and clean? Fucking Inuyashiki looks better than this fight. I'm actually getting a little upset thinking back on this episode now (in part because I just remembered the trainwreck that was Inuyashiki) so yap session over.
