Self Bought And Self Ripped Hope You Enjoy :)
I'll have a remux of this out in about a week or less.
Got some good feedback in my discord from Hambrababy and Sheldonsuckz on the CD rips and decided to redo them with the proper EAC settings here's a link to the [rerip](https://mega.nz/file/XuICSDYD#wyqRZfsza5tapkEv9AoCoUesCULwGtpPM15mx_AdRKw)
Made a small image comparison between [BD and DVD](https://slow.pics/s/feHm4EG9?image-fit=contain) I personally think the BD looks much better than the DVD

By watching the comparison DVD vs BD, it seems the dvd is better. This release killed the detail by applying heavy DNR, Looks like a Moozzi2 or nezumi encode. BAD
LOL it is a QTEC upscale. Sunrise as always ruining their own anime. Same case with BETTERMAN, GUNDAM, and their old releases. They dont care about rescuing real 16 mm film
LOL sunrise almost never reescans film content. Maybe it is a 16mm film, but the heavy DNR they applied removed grain and erased most of the details. This release would be fantastic if they retained the grain present on the DVD (and therefore on the film), but it seems Sunrise, for some strange reason, hates grain.
Thanks for the comps, I was kinda interested in checking this out. Looking at those screenshots it looks like an actual HD scan but with grain/noise scrubbed. Obliviously nothing that can be done about that but at least it looks like they didn't give it the greasy filtering treatment.
Excuse my slowness but from https://slow.pics/s/feHm4EG9?image-fit=contain which is which?
DVD? https://i.slow.pics/JMkawx6T.webp
BD? https://i.slow.pics/qEBTtgZW.webp
If so, I'm trying to comprehend this guy Sts115's comment if it needs serious medical help or not.
https://nyaa.si/user/warui warui get medical help, you are blind. Read prior comments. The bd may be a 16mm scan but scrubbed the grain for no reason. Removing grain inevitable removes detail. Visit doom9 or any forum and investigate about DNR
@petmyrock Thanks for the clarification.
@Sts115 I ain't blind. If that's what the stupid studio did nothing can be done. It does look washed in the BD image when you look out the window looking at the mountain and skies loses that painted look the DVD's have but you can see the drastic difference the DVD has to the BD in regards to dark colors. The BD's win here overall with the background details and colors popping over the DVD's.
On this shot https://slow.pics/s/iQId4JmD?image-fit=contain yea another sky win for the DVD's, however, the glare is intact and not destroyed. The female is also more colorful.
If you switch to the camping shots https://slow.pics/s/VVYZpjSI?image-fit=contain you can barely tell the line details are present around dark colors while the BD's stand out. Despite the grain loss in the camp fire smoke whatever they did they didn't destroy the stars in the sky. Usually when grain is taken out details like the stars get destroyed. It looks they're all accounted using the slider.
Overall, I would switch to the BD's over the DVD. It would of been better if they kept in the grain but can't do shit about that. It's not even close to a complete loss as say other BD's that remove grain. If you want to keep the DVD's stick with those encodes but don't lie and say the BD's are worse than the DVD's. Hell fuckin no they're not.
