Judgment did the editing. Judgment is the track called "Dub / R1 (Heavily Modified)". Judgment subs have one single sign for a letter at 38:33 and it's was tracked to the old shaky video but the remaster has been stabilized, is framed slightly differently with more image visible and has different colors so now the sign shakes when it shouldn't, is in the wrong position overlapping the characters hand, has the wrong colors and bleeds into the black bars because the sign wasn't adjusted to the new video. From SIUUU: --- PROPER reason: In the previous release, the Japanese track from the DVD was already lossy, and I re-encoded the DTS audio to DTS-MA with similar core bitrate and just a lossy to lossy transcode. As listed in the JPN BD, the English audio was released theatrically, and then the Japanese track was distributed locally in Japan. So, the English track was released first as the production team's strategic decision to target the Western market & Director Kawajiri's choice to prioritise English aligns with his vision for the film's aesthetic and narrative, which drew heavily from Western gothic and European influences. So, the English track was set as the default. But as you already know, the English track suffers a lot of mistranslation, like the word "dhampir" to "dunpeal". Also, the biggest difference I can think of is that Left Hand talks a lot more in the English dub. Some people hold it against the English dub because Left Hand isn't quite as chatty in the novels. The Japanese version references the lore and dialogue from the books, e.g., D just mimics Carmilla's "rule of nature" and "blood traitor" prattle in English. In the Japanese version, he drops a line from the books "transient visitors"... There's more thoughtfulness and subtlety in the Japanese. So, the video is from JPN BD. - Audio: English audio from JPN seems to have attenuated back channels and lower range. GER and USA BD are quite similar except for volume, and both have similar dynamic range. Went with the GER BD as it has no clipping samples. And as for Japanese audio, BD audio seems a lossy transcode from the JPN DVD's DD audio, except for the ending, as it doesn't contain the original ending song 'Tōku Made'. JPN DVD's DTS was quite better than those that also have the original ending song. So, Japanese audio from JPN DVD (DTS) is sync'd. - Subtitles: Both GER and USA BD have similar English SDH PGS subtitles. USA one is in yellow, hence I took the GER one. The English (Forced) was created for [this scene](https://ptpimg.me/9a6z3r.png), and as the Japanese track was only released in Japan, no retail English subtitle was released, but fortunately, thanks to @Judgement, the fansub of this is perfect, which was edited by @wham. (This track also includes the Japanese Ending song "Tōku Made" lyrics at the ending. Enjoy!) So, both were added. And all other OCR'd subs by @Roronoa_Zoro (Thanks!) and sync'd properly. - Chapters: There were two chapter name versions, 1. The [USA BD & DVD version](https://ptpimg.me/f874n3.png) & 2. [The JPN BD & DVD version](https://ptpimg.me/108p5w.jpg), after checked the chapter points and naming, the JPN version has the better chapter positioning and naming, so it was used and the chapters were synced to the closest I-frames.
