why not increase the quality like encoding at slow preset or better settings instead of encoding at medium quality which is not even a good quality ???
All your encodes based on default medium preset w/o any settings change....
There is a sizable difference in quality between the presets 'medium' and 'very slow' in H264, which makes it worth it even if the encoding time increases (by 2x or 3x).
While in H265 thats not the case (http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/211948). The difference in quality is not large between the presets which makes it not worth it when the encoding speeds increases by 5x to 10x. Atleast for me its not worth it.
That doesn't make any sense. The source file is 25GB. When you compress 25GB down to 725MB, compression quality is very important. H265 is roughly twice as efficient as H264, so this is about as good as a 1.4GB H264 file.
