thanks netflix for saving anime by just licensing it like everyone else (except cr who is actually on production committees but is somehow killing anime unlike netflix) xd
@idktbhfml How are Asenshi subs better?
I mean I haven't watched Asenshi's release since my old shitty phone can't do 10 bit video but these subs seemed nice.
These subs are basically very generic in style. Not fitting thematically into the context.
For example, when Violet was asked why she hadn't taken a break from sorting the mail:
HorribleSubs: "I'm used to long hours."
Asenshi: "I'm used to operations with long hours."
Violet has been a soldier her whole life, and so it is fitting that she would say 'operations'.
Another example: when she spilled tea on her hand, referring to her hands:
HorribleSubs: "They're a bit bulky, but they're sturdy."
Asenshi: "Uncouth as they may look, they're just as sturdy."
Again, we have a case where Violet's demeanor is poorly conveyed through the HorribleSubs version. Asenshi conveys it very well, with less conversational and more rigid wording.
The Netflix version follows subtitle industry standards, so they have to be very rigid with character limits (hence the poor conveying of sentences). Shitsux.
